Titre : The United States and the Arab Spring Nations Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : ARIBI,Brahim, Auteur ; dendane, zoubir, Auteur Editeur : Université tlemcen Année de publication : 2017 Importance : 216 p. Présentation : ill. Format : 30 cm Accompagnement : cd Langues : Anglais (eng) Langues originales : Anglais (eng) Résumé : This study highlights the interactions between the events of the so-called
Arab spring and US foreign policy from a decision-making perspective.
As such, it primarily aims at developing a paradigm of change and
consistency in US foreign policy toward the Middle East in general and
Egypt in particular. It approaches the US- Egyptian relations in the
aftermath of the Arab spring on two levels: on a more specific and precise
level represented in the American administration responses to the
developments in Egypt; and on a broader level represented in the global
environment approaches that have determined the US-Egyptian relations
since the 1980s. In this way, the study provides not only facts on the
American attitudes toward Egypt but provides thorough analyses and
explanations to the changes that occurred at the level of US foreign policy
toward Egypt in accordance with the changes that were brought about at
the level of its global environment approaches such as the orientalist, neoorientalist
and accommodationist approaches. As such, it also aims at
arriving at a thorough understanding to US foreign policy within the
context of the Arab spring especially that the latter made many issues
including democratization, political Islam, and human rights come to the
forefront of the political arena.The United States and the Arab Spring Nations [texte imprimé] / ARIBI,Brahim, Auteur ; dendane, zoubir, Auteur . - Université tlemcen, 2017 . - 216 p. : ill. ; 30 cm + cd.
