use of role play as teaching technique. The main problem behind this research is that
most EFL learners may face many difficulties. Therefore, researchers believe that there
are a number of ways through which teachers can help their students to improve their
speaking skill ability. The present study aims at shedding light on improving learners’
oral profiency by acting role play as a good model for real life situation into the
classroom. The researcher adopts a mixed methodology which is both qualitative and
quantitative using two instruments of research: a questionnaire and an interview. The
questionnaire was administered to students in high school while, the interview was
directed to EFL teachers .The findings show that teachers and students hold favorable
attitudes towards using role play techniques and that role play is an effective tool to
improve student’s speaking abilities. Thus, the study confirmed the hypotheses that role
play is effective tool to enhance learners’ speaking skill. Generally speaking, learners’
need to be taught with an appropriate technique to develop their speaking skill and to
