Titre : Students ‘Attitudes Towards The English Course in The Department of French at Tlemcen University Type de document : texte imprimé Auteurs : Aicha Ibtissem Azouzi, Auteur Editeur : Tlemcen : University Aboubakr Belkaid Année de publication : 2019 Importance : 91 p. Format : 21*27 cm. Langues : Anglais (eng) Résumé : Language attitude is one of the major factors that differentiate between
accomplishment and failure in language learning. Indeed, it is one of the learning
factors that determine student’s success. This study was conducted in order to
gather information regarding the issue of FFL students’ attitudes towards learning
additional foreign language. The main purpose of the study is to identify third year
French students’ language needs and measure their degree of motivation regarding
the proposed English course. In this case study, three research methods were used to
collect data; a questionnaire for the students, a semi-structured interview for the
English teachers, and a classroom observation at the department of French at
Tlemcen University. The quantitative and qualitative analysis of the gathered data
revealed that the majority of French students are not motivated to learn English
although they are aware of the importance of the English language. To further
reinforce positive attitude towards English courses, a number of suggestions and
recommendations were put forward as the use of ICTs, teacher’s technological
skills training, authentic teaching materials and collaboration between language
teacher and subject specialist. To conclude, the present work showed that studying
learner’s attitudes is a variable of paramount importance for understanding the
process of English teaching and learning.Students ‘Attitudes Towards The English Course in The Department of French at Tlemcen University [texte imprimé] / Aicha Ibtissem Azouzi, Auteur . - Tlemcen : University Aboubakr Belkaid, 2019 . - 91 p. ; 21*27 cm.

language especially in classrooms. The present research was conducted to investigate the
attitudes of third year EFL students towards the oral use of English in formal contexts at
the University of Tlemcen. Furthermore, our study examines the effect of EFL students’
attitudes and other factors on their language learning achievement in general and, in
particular, their oral performance and participation in the classroom. Throughout this
work, two research instruments were used to collect data: a questionnaire was directed to
third-year EFL students and a structured interview addressed to EFL teachers. Thus, the
obtained results were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The outcomes of this
study revealed that third-year EFL students maintain positive attitudes towards English.
Besides attitudes, self-confidence, motivation, anxiety and learning styles are factors that
have greatly influenced students’ oral use of English in classroom. To conclude, the EFL
learners need to adopt a positive stand towards the oral use of English that would enable
them to orally practice with their teachers inside the classroom and outside. Also, they
have to be self- confident, motivated and reduce their anxiety when they speak in English.Students' Attitudes towards their Oral Use of English in Formal Contexts: The Case of Third -Year EFL Students at Tlemcen University [texte imprimé] / Ibtissem BENAYAD, Auteur ; Fella BENAISSA, Auteur . - Tlemcen : University Aboubakr Belkaid, 2019 . - 80 p. ; 21*27 cm.

students’ fear and uneasiness of sitting for the Baccalaureate. Then, it tries to suggest
solutions and remediation to this unwanted and uncomfortable state (test anxiety). The
investigation took the form of an exploratory case study of third AS students in
addition to their teachers and parents. Different research instruments were used in
order to gather the necessary data. Those instruments included two questionnaires
administered to 3 rd year high school students and their EFL teachers. They were
analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. Then, an additional research tool was
used: an interview with parents of 3AS students to support the gathered data from the
other instruments. The findings revealed that 3 rd year secondary students suffered from
test anxiety due to the high-stakes exam (i.e.; the Baccalaureate). On the other hand,
teachers play a great role for overcoming BAC exam anxiety with technical strategies.
The results lead to the idea that students suffer from major problems such as the long
programme to cover, time management and mental and physical fatigue due to the
attendance of both school and coaching courses, which are source of their anxiety.
Finally, some suggestion and recommendation were put forward in accordance to the
leading investigation for resolving BAC exam anxiety problems and the three

Résumé : Globalization is a process that involves higher levels of integration and interaction
among people, countries and cultures. This unprecedented growing interdependence of
the world’s societies has been significantly driven by international trade, investments
and the sophisticated information technologies. Consequently and inevitably, the
impact of such high scale integration has had its impact on the world’s politics,

continuous substantial change. The analysis of the literature on the impact of
globalization on Arab fashion has shown that this impact has positive as well as
