have indicated that speech accommodation does exist among the informants in a relative
rate. It has also been revealed that the factors that facilitate speech accommodation stem
from the will of the participants to integrate with the local community via the constant

collect data; a questionnaire for the students, a semi-structured interview for the
English teachers, and a classroom observation at the department of French at
Tlemcen University. The quantitative and qualitative analysis of the gathered data
revealed that the majority of French students are not motivated to learn English
although they are aware of the importance of the English language. To further
reinforce positive attitude towards English courses, a number of suggestions and
recommendations were put forward as the use of ICTs, teacher’s technological

language especially in classrooms. The present research was conducted to investigate the
attitudes of third year EFL students towards the oral use of English in formal contexts at
the University of Tlemcen. Furthermore, our study examines the effect of EFL students’

work, two research instruments were used to collect data: a questionnaire was directed to

obtained results were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The outcomes of this
study revealed that third-year EFL students maintain positive attitudes towards English.
Besides attitudes, self-confidence, motivation, anxiety and learning styles are factors that
have greatly influenced students’ oral use of English in classroom. To conclude, the EFL

investigation took the form of an exploratory case study of third AS students in
addition to their teachers and parents. Different research instruments were used in
order to gather the necessary data. Those instruments included two questionnaires
administered to 3 rd year high school students and their EFL teachers. They were
analyzed both quantitatively and qualitatively. Then, an additional research tool was
used: an interview with parents of 3AS students to support the gathered data from the
other instruments. The findings revealed that 3 rd year secondary students suffered from
test anxiety due to the high-stakes exam (i.e.; the Baccalaureate). On the other hand,
teachers play a great role for overcoming BAC exam anxiety with technical strategies.
The results lead to the idea that students suffer from major problems such as the long
programme to cover, time management and mental and physical fatigue due to the
attendance of both school and coaching courses, which are source of their anxiety.
Finally, some suggestion and recommendation were put forward in accordance to the
