Format : 29*21 cm Langues : Anglais (eng) Résumé : Within the general purpose of depicting the way female heroines are represented in
the Walt Disney Princess Franchise, this dissertation will attempt to establish a
comparison between old and reinterpreted female fairy tale characters; Cinderella in
particular is evaluated. In fact, for this examination a whole selection from both
classic and contemporary Disney official Princess Movies is laid down. The selection
of films consists of Cinderella (1950), Ella Enchanted (2004) and Ella and the Prince
(2015). The analysis shows that female heroines in Disney’s animated Princess
Movies have become more complex and active characters over time. They did even
become decision-makers, holding power either in a positive or negative manner;
something that rendered curious wonderers speechless. This dissertation will,
therefore, first examine how fairy tales became an institutionalized genre, and
secondly analyze the narrative's influence on the cinematic production - mainly
